Children study their own locality and others through a variety of exciting topics. They use
Geographical enquiry to investigate topics using a range of skills. Children are taught to use
skills of direction, using and drawing maps, representing information and perspective. They
are encouraged to express views and use geographical vocabulary. Children use globes,
maps and atlases to learn about the U.K, world and continents. Comparisons are made
between the school locality and other relevant localities around the world. Children are given
the opportunity to evaluate their own community and discuss ways in which it could be
improved to benefit themselves and the people of Ramsey.
